The primary purpose of Region III of Overeaters Anonymous is to aid those with the problem of compulsive eating through the Twelve Steps of Overeaters Anonymous, and to serve and represent the OA groups and intergroups from which Region III is formed.

Region III consists of Overeaters Anonymous groups and intergroups located in Arizona, Colorado, Southern Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.

The business of Region III is done at twice-yearly assemblies of representatives from the member intergroups. The Assembly elects a Steering Committee to serve as executive officers.

The Steering Committee is composed of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Recording Secretary, Communications Secretary and Treasurer. The Region III WSO Trustee is a non-voting member of the Region III Steering Committee.

There are additional standing committees which deal with specific areas of Region policy and operations. Membership of these committees is drawn from the Assembly.
